Bibione and the environment

Bibione and the environment
You’re surrounded by nature in Bibione. It is no coincidence that the area was the first tourist destination in Europe to Obtain EMAS Environmental Certification, as there are many features that make Bibione a great example to follow in the tourism sector: The Beach: eight kilometres of a sandy beach that is 400 metres wide with great facilities. Stretch out and sunbathe on the finest golden sand and watch your kids have the time of their lives. If you’re the active type, then have a go at beach volleyball or keep in shape by running along the shore. The Sea: clean, calm water that has earned the FEE’s Navy Flag award. Swim, relax and fill your lungs with great sea air that will do you the world of good. The Climate: Bibione’s mild climates with its gentle breezes make it a real oasis of well-being. After a day at the beach, why not wind down with a stroll in the pine forest? There’s nothing more relaxing than being immersed in unspoilt nature, whose beauty has not been affected by urban development. The environment of Bibione is so appreciable because the town has a policy of differentiated rubbish collection that has been spread to visitors and inhabitants. The EMAS certificate recognised the fact that Bibione has created 30 kilometres of cycle track. Nothing could be more in harmony with nature and the philosophy of respect for the environment than cycle tourism. Breathtaking scenery awaits you around Bibione and part of this landscape are the casoni, traditional fishermen’s homes around the Tagliamento estuary. Why not discover these fascinating testimonies of the area’s heritage?
